The spooktacular 2010 Eyegore Awards!!
Universal Studios held the 2010 Eyegore Awards paying tribute to director Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), Christopher Llyod (Piranha 3D, Back to the Futrure), Tobe Hooper, (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Lifeforce), Betsy Russell and Gina Holden (Saw 3D).
The show was hosted by Corey Feldman; including appearances from Rob Zombie and True Blood star Mariana Klaveno who presented an award. The night was full of chills and delights with plenty of previews, film shorts, and the film short competition where filmmakers had a chance to win $1000, broadcast their film on the SyFy Channel, and win a free trip to the awards courtesy of Universal Studios and Rob Zombie. The winning short was “Jasper” directed by Elizabeth Scheiffe; a short film about an old woman who loses her cat. The film was both funny and scary fitting the theme of the celebration!
The highlight of the night was the lifetime achievement awards given to Sid Haig, Tobe Hooper, and Christopher Lloyd. Sid Haig comedically commented that he was waiting for Quentin Tarantino to resurrect his career but he had to settle for Rob Zombie!!
Some of the other guests who attended the show include Bill Moseley (Devil’s Rejects), Caroline Williams (Halloween 2), Courtney Gains (Children of the Corn), Tom Malloy (The Alphabet Killer), and Chance Michael Corbitt (Lost Boys) who reunited with co-star Corey Feldman.
